Text Box: Bonnie Ames is someone that touches everyone’s heart. Whether you have known Bonnie Since she was little or you are just learning about her now due to the recent tragic events she will or already has touched your heart. Bonnie is a past member of the Florida Highland Engine & Hose Company #3 in Orange County , NY and has been with the Town of Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps for five years where Bonnie maintained the rank of Sergeant for one year. She is also a part of the fundraising committee. She has helped with multiple fundraisers and National EMS week. Bonnie thrives on helping others and demonstrated that everyday by working full time for Regional EMS and still finding time to volunteer multiple nights of the week. Many young people are concerned with going to the mall or seeing a movie on any given weekend. Bonnie’s first concern is EMS coverage for the Town and making sure the ambulance is stocked and ready to go. It is hard to find a person so willing to give of them self but Bonnie is an exception to the rule. She played the soprano horn with The Queens Village Queens an all girl Jr. Drum & Bugle corps for over a decade. And with this back ground was able to play taps at ceremonies for veterans and other groups. Whatever the need she was able to and wanted to help. Talking to Bonnie she’s not one to complain. Willing to be on duty night, day, rain or shine. She’s easy going, down to earth and can be made happy with a simple bowl of Mac and cheese. But the thing that stands out the most about her is her laugh. It’s kind of a chuckle that sticks with you. She easily makes others laugh but when she let out a chuckle you can’t help but smile yourself. She is everyone’s friend and is the type of person that always puts other first. Bonnie has helped so many people in their time of need through out the community. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
